To help us feature your work accurately, please include:

  • The camera and film stock used.
  • Any website or social media handles you would like us to share with our readers.
  • Optional: Any accompanying text, stories, or articles that support your images.

Note on submission volume: While there is no limit to the number of photos you can submit, we receive a high volume of entries. Please keep this in mind and curate your submission to showcase your best work.


Optiko Journal is a not-for-profit volunteer project dedicated to promoting analogue photography and showcasing the work of amateur photographers.

By submitting your work to Optiko Journal, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • Future Publication: Your photograph may be featured in a future print edition of the Optiko Journal. The journal is an annual publication designed to promote analogue photography and celebrate amateur talent.
  • Copyright: Full copyright of the images will always remain with the photographer.
  • Exclusivity: Optiko Journal will never use your image in any other publication or printed format outside of the journal.
  • Credit: The photographer’s name will always be credited alongside their image, unless you request otherwise.
  • Privacy: Contact details (e.g., email addresses) and personal websites will not be published without your explicit permission.
  • Contributor Copies: Due to the not-for-profit nature of this project and high printing/distribution costs, we unfortunately cannot provide free copies of the journal to all published contributors. However, feature writers, interviewees, and featured spotlight artists may receive a complimentary copy under certain circumstances.

Submission Restrictions: We strictly accept analogue photography only. Please do not submit digital camera photos, pornography, or content that is likely to cause offense.
